CJN Article Reports on Growth of Local Frum Schools and Community

August 2, 2017 Leave a Comment

From the Cleveland Jewish News article “Orthodox Jewish schools see ‘dramatic growth’” by Amanda Koehn

As educators and students prepare for a new school year, local Jewish day schools are seeing changes in terms of renovations, new campuses and new programs. The schools predict continued growth in enrollment, primarily focused in the Orthodox community.

With an influx of Orthodox families moving to the Cleveland area for reasonably-priced homes, quality day schools and one of the strongest state voucher programs in the country to help families pay for education, the schools’ leaders are working to accommodate rising student populations this year and in the future.

Click to view the full article which has a graph of the schools’ enrollment trends as well as a short synopsis about each school.

Intergenerational Programming Opportunities at Montefiore

July 30, 2017 Leave a Comment

Montefiore Home in Beachwood, OH is trying to offer more intergenerational Jewish programming to its residents. We would welcome local camps, schools, and synagogues to participate in our exciting calendar of activities. So if your camp or synagogue has a skit, singing, arts and crafts that you could share with our residents, we would love to work with you! If you would supply the people and the transportation, we could help with the rest – a nice big auditorium, many interested residents, a budget for materials.  In particular, we are trying to cover the upcoming summer months, mainly on Thursdays in the am but other times are available. Please contact Rabbi Akiva Feinstein (216-910-2794, afeinstein@montefiorecare.org) if you would like to learn more!
