We regret to inform you of the passing of Chaim Hirsch Jacobs, father of Rabbi Eli Jacobs. Rabbi Jacobs is sitting Shiva in New Jersey until Thursday morning, August 31st. He will be sitting Shiva in Cleveland at 3555 Berkeley Road from Thursday evening until Friday afternoon, Sept. 1st.

Cleveland Minyanim:

  • Thursday: Mincha/Maariv 7:30pm
  • Friday: Shacharis 7:00am, Mincha 6:20pm

In loving memory of Irving Asher Rabinsky, a”h, a stone setting will be held Sunday September 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Memorial Cemetery . Loving husband of Leatrice B. Rabinsky, loving father of Linda Bensoussan, Rena Kurs, Marc Rabin and David Rabinsky,  loving grandfather and great grandfather. Rabbi Naftali Burnstein of Young Israel of Greater Cleveland will officiate.

Nshei Gown Gemach Update

The N’shei Gown Gemach will iy”h reopen this week. The gemach will now be hosted by the Levovitz family. The address is 3583 Bendemeer Road. In order for the gemach to run efficiently and smoothly, we are asking for your cooperation:

1) Please call Aliza @ 216-371-3685 for the day and hours. These may change from week to week. You must call for an appointment. Please do not just show up.
2) Gowns may only be returned during our open hours. Please do not drop off any items at other times.
3) There is no need for you to call about returning your gown. You will iy”h receive a call about making a return shortly after your simcha. We try to give you enough time after your simcha before asking for a return.

We are looking forward to serving you again. May we always share simchas.

Hurricane Harvey Expected to Impact Local Weather this Labor Day Weekend

It looks like the remnants of Hurricane Harvey will reach us on Sunday. It’s expected to be centered over Northern Kentucky by Sunday morning. The worst of the two possible scenarios is for showers and Thunderstorms for our region. Possibly up to half-an-inch of rain for Shabbos. Whereas Harvey is not expected to bring widespread flooding, or flooding anywhere close to the disaster in Texas, enough rain may fall to bring urban and isolated flash flooding to some states farther north. We might get up to four inches of rain when it’s all said and done. Chicago and Detroit should be spared, but anywhere east of us, including the North-East will be impacted to some extent. So, plan ahead if you are planning travel over the holiday weekend.
