Vaad HaRabbonim Letter Regarding Coronavirus

We humbly admire the community for their strict adherence to the guidelines that have been previously established in the effort to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We are acutely aware of the challenge it has been for individuals and families to remain cloistered in their homes, and appreciate the community’s compliance and endurance in this trying time.

We advise and instruct that all previous guidelines and restrictions remain in effect for the time being. We are carefully monitoring the situation and consulting with medical professionals, and will reassess the policies in the very near future.

Please continue to daven for the end of this dangerous pandemic, and remain vigilant in maintaining safe distances from other people.

Local Dropoff Extended to Tuesday – Act Now! There is an Election Happening Right Now!

Due to Covid-19, the March 17 election was extended to a Vote By Mail only election ending on April 28th.

This election will determine who represents you in Congress, at the statehouse, and your property taxes. While officials may not know how you vote, they do know IF you vote. They have noticed that the voting rates in our community are EXTREMELY low in this election.

Please ACT NOW!

Voting is a 2 step process:

Step 1: Click to request an absentee ballot:

This must be returned ASAP.  We have arranged drop of centers in Cleveland Heights and University Heights where you can drop off your application for hand delivery to the Board of Elections. (Ballot request forms will also be available at these locations)

Please drop off by Tuesday Monday 12:00pm.

Step 2: The Board of Elections will mail a ballot to you. Keep an eye on your mailbox for your absentee ballot and make sure to fill it out and return it ASAP to one of the above locations.

Ohio Business to Start Reopening May 1st

At a press conference on April 16th, Governor Mike DeWine stated that Ohio will start easing restrictions on closed business starting May 1st. He cautioned, however, that what we’re used to an “open” business looking like will not remain the same. Some of the restrictions and safeguards you’re currently seeing at business that haven’t closed–such as social distancing, limits on the number of customers shopping at once, masking, gloving, and more–will be necessary for this new normal.

Excerpt from Cleveland Jewish News:

Even when businesses start to reopen, life will not look the same as it did before. The businesses deemed essential that have stayed open have put together stringent measures to keep their employees and customers safe.

The advisory board put together preventative measures such as regular checks of PPE stock and supply, a limit on visitors into the business, screening upon entry and clear guidelines on hygiene.
