Mrs. Naomi Weiss, Rabbi Menachem Weiss, Rabbi Shmuel Weiss, and Mrs. Bluma Ashlaga are sitting Shiva for their husband and father Rabbi Yosef Weiss a”h, until Sunday morning, January 30th.

Mrs. Naomi Weiss will be in Eretz Yisroel until Thursday morning and will continue shiva in London Thursday night.

The other aveilim will sit the whole week in Eretz Yisroel.

We regret to inform you of the passing of Rabbi Boruch Menachem Cohn, father of Mrs. Shani Lebovics. The levaya was in Lakewood, earlier today.

Mrs. Lebovics will be sitting Shiva at 935 South Woodland Drive in Lakewood until Friday at 2pm. (She will not be sitting in Cleveland.)

The funeral will take place 2pm tomorrow, Monday, 1/24/22, at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel. Interment will take place at Bet Olam Cemetery.

Blue Mailboxes’ Keys Stolen; Don’t Use the Boxes Until Further Notice

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I received an email from a resident and a call by Cleveland Councilman Michael Polensek who had been contacted by a postal official, that the blue postal boxes around the cities in Northeast Ohio and in front of the Post Offices themselves, have been compromised.

Someone or group was able to obtain the master keys for the drop boxes including, per Councilman Polensek, boxes for individual apartment buildings, as well.

Obviously, postal officials are aggressively investigating this since this is a federal crime.

Boxes have been hit in Parma, Richmond Heights, Euclid, Lyndhurst and surrounding suburbs thus far. Therefore, I am being told that no one should drop any mail in the blue mailboxes at this point in time for fear of theft, until the perpetrators are apprehended or the master keys and locks are changed. All mail for delivery should be taken directly to your local Post Office and deposited inside the lobby.

The perpetrators are opening the mail to take checks, alter them and cash them. This can cause serious financial impact to individuals whose mail was stolen. .

Please let your friends and neighbors know so our residents or businesses aren’t victimized. Let’s hope the federal officials arrest the perpetrators.
