State auditor’s spokeswoman: There is no special investigation into Beachwood’s finances
(Ed: We recently shared a story from the Plain Dealer that it turns out was in error in implying that the city of Beachwood was under investigation. At the time we had no idea that the story was incorrect and based on very unsubstantial evidence. The correct version of the story is now available so please read the story below for the correct information. )
The state auditor’s office says a report that there is an investigation into Beachwood’s finances is a “misunderstanding.” Carrie Bartunek, a spokeswoman for Auditor David Yost said Wednesday: “There is no special audit for Beachwood. I can’t confirm there’s even an investigation.

Shannon Road Ice Cream introduces: “Ice Cream for a Difference”
Shannon Road Ice Cream is excited to introduce our new line of flavors and novelties, “Ice Cream for a Difference”. This week’s flavor is: TOFFEE BAR ICE CREAM. Two dollars of every $5 pint sold will support pediatric cancer research.
Why have we chosen this cause to support? As many of you know, our daughter, Tzippy, was treated for Stage IV Neuroblastoma at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. She was fortunate to participate in a number of trials and received therapies made possible by funds from organizations like Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, and St. Baldrick’s Foundation, amongst many others. Across the country, people are raising money to support the researchers and medical professionals who have dedicated themselves to saving children’s lives, and we want to be part of that effort. How? By doing one of the things that we do best: MAKE ICE CREAM!!!

Voter Information for Upcoming November 5th Elections
Local and County elections are coming up and people should plan to vote! Local elections touch our lives in ways up close and personal and are in some ways more important than national elections for that reason and also in a smaller pool we have a bigger splash.
Major issues this time around include the election of Cleveland Heights City Council members, CH-UH School Board Members (remember Milikin!?), hotly contested mayoral and council elections in Beachwood, as well as several significant tax levies including Issue 81 providing for a $135 million dollar levy to support CH-UH public schools building renovation to the tune of an additional $200 annually per $100k home value, as well as levies for the Metroparks and Cuyahoga Health and Human Services.

JLC Presents The Fifth Commandment – 5 Part Series
Attention married Clevelanders – can I have your attention for a minute?
(Submitted)
As a Sofer, I write Gittin for local Rabbonim, and lately I have been writing far too many. I see the issues that are brought in, and I thought to myself that many of the issues could have been easily settled such that a get probably would not have been needed. In an effort to be of help to stem this budding epidemic, I became a professionally trained certified marriage counselor, to complement my previous coaching of couples on a simple level. What I learned was so amazing that I would like to share it with everyone and arrange a workshop with professionals from Cleveland and beyond to address the community. I would like to know how many people in Cleveland would be interested in a marriage upkeep workshop.
