Kashrus Alert – Israeli Peppers at Costco

November 28, 2022 1 Comment

The consumer should be aware that Israeli peppers are once again being sold in our local supermarkets this time of year and have been spotted at Costco. A proper separation of terumos & ma’asros is required before using. There is usually a sticker on the pepper indicating the country of origin.

A comprehensive overview of teruma and maaser in the Diaspora, including how to separate terumos and maasros can be viewed at the Star K’s website: https://www.star-k.org/articles/kosher-lists/1160/terumos-and-maasros/.

Kashrus Alert – Ferrara Pan Candy

November 22, 2017 Leave a Comment

From UMKosher:

All Ferrara Pan candy products made in Mexico, except for Atomic Fireballs and Jawbreakers, are no longer certified by UMKosher. Some packaging of the other items erroneously bears a UMK symbol, and should not be used. Corrective measures are being taken.
