We regret to inform you of the passing of Willie Gilmore, Jr., brother of  Rachel Maxwell.  Rachel will be sitting Shiva at 9523 Nelson Avenue (off 93rd St.), Cleveland, until Friday afternoon. Shiva hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday:  Noon to 7:00 pm. Friday:  Noon to 3:00 pm. Rachel can be reached at:  (216) 773-8473

Synagogues in Greater Cleveland have a rich history and with Passover, which ends Saturday evening, one is reminded of the significant role of these early temples.

Anshe Chesed, now Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple in Beachwood, is the oldest existing Jewish congregation in Cleveland, says clevelandjewishhistory.net, the Cleveland Jewish History’s website. Anshe was established as a German Orthodox congregation in 1841 and chartered in 1842.

We regret to inform you of the passing of Aharon ben Yosef Zigdon A”H, beloved brother of Benny Zigdon. The funeral was over chol hamoed in E”Y and Benny will be sitting shiva at his house 2654 Brentwood Rd. in Beachwood, starting Motzei Shabbos and will be getting up on Friday. Visiting hours are noon to 8 pm. There will be a minyan for Shachris this week at the Zigdon home, 2654 Brentwood, while Benny Zigdon is sitting Shiva. Shachris will start daily at 8 am. Mincha Maariv will start at 8:10 pm.  Meal arrangements can be made through Shevy Zigdon or Alla Mikhili.
