Kirkland freeze dried fruit and Dole bagged salad recalled due to contamination risk: Food and Drug recalls
(Plain Dealer) Kirkland brand freeze-dried fruit sold in Costco stores and Dole bagged salads are being recalled in several states due to a risk of contamination with potentially deadly bacteria.
Oregon Freeze Dry, Inc. of Albany, OR is recalling almost 60,000 cases of the Kirkland Signature Real Sliced Fruit, sold only in Costco stores, according to a news release. The freeze-dried fruit, sold in a red and white case containing 20 pouches, may be contaminated with salmonella.

I know that, in America, everyone uses cottonseed oil on Pesach. However, when I was in Israel for Pesach I was told that they don’t use cottonseed oil because it is kitniyos. Why is there a difference in practice?

Ma Nishtana? Why will this year’s Pesach preparations be different from all the other years? For many years, the annual STAR-K Passover Directory has been published together with Rabbi Gershon Bess’s Passover Medicines & Cosmetics guide, and available for sale in hard copy.
While the STAR-K Comprehensive Information & Product Guide has always been available for free download at www.star-k.org , the difficulty in creating Rabbi Bess’s guide along withe the medications and cosmetic list made it unrealistic to give it out for free download.
