Baruch Dayan Ha’Emes – Esther Offer, ob”m

Esther Offer very recently celebrated her 94th birthday. A survivor of the Nazi death camps. From the ashes of that destruction she crafted a new life and knew the joy of her great-grandchildren. She was a determined and at times defiant woman who made her way through all the challenges and tribulations of life with grace, dignity and devotion. An inspired and blessed life.

She is survived by children: Shlomo (Suzanne) Offer, Zvi (Harvey) Ofer, Miriam (Gerry) Engelhart. Grandchildren: David (Ora), Rafi (Stacey), Adam (Odeya), Yael, Talya and Jordana. Great-grandchildren: Aviya, Natan, Noam, Naava and Gilad.

Burial was at Eitz Hachaim cemetery in Bet Shemesh

Shiva in Israel and in Cleveland

  • In Jerusalem – at the Engelhart residence, 3 yad harutzim. Shiva begins on Sunday (3/19) . Runs through Friday 3/24
  • In Cleveland – Motzai Shabbos and Sunday morning (3/19) at Yeshiva Tiffereth Avigdor 2460 Bishop Rd , Wickliffe, Ohio. Continuing Sunday approximately 1:00 pm through Thursday 3/23 at the residence of Jacob and Rochel Koval, 3708 Severn Rd, Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
  • Sunday mincha/ maariv 7:15 pm
  • Monday through Thursday Shacharis    7:30 am. Mincha followed by maariv 7:15 pm

Coke products produced in Mexico are being sold in local stores i.e. Marc’s. These products are not the same as the American product and are not certified nor recommended (with the exception of the original Coke flavor). Please check your Mishloach Manos, as people may have received these items over Purim. They are glass bottles and state ‘Mexico’.

Shiva Update: Baruch Dayan Ha’Emes – Philip Joseph Engelberg, ob”m

We regret to inform you of the passing of Philip Joseph Engelberg, beloved son of the late Rabbi and Mrs. Louis Engelberg, and brother of Rabbi Dr. Abraham Abba Engelberg (Yerushalayim), Mrs. Etta Einstadter, Mrs. Abigail Rozen, and Mrs. Jacqueline Stern (Cleveland).

The graveside funeral was held on Friday afternoon at Mt. Olive cemetery. The family will be sitting shiva at the Stern residence, 3485 Blanche Avenue in Cleveland Heights, beginning Monday evening March 13th at 8:30 p.m., all day Tuesday (March 14) and all day Wednesday (March 15).

The family is extremely grateful to friends and community members who drove out to the cemetery on a cold Erev Shabbos on such short notice; and to all who have shown care and concern for Philip throughout the years.

* Accumulations…6 to 10 inches of snow from Monday evening
through Tuesday afternoon, with additional lake effect snow
continuing at times through Wednesday.

* Timing…Snow will begin Monday afternoon and increase
in intensity Monday night into Tuesday morning. Occasional snow
showers will continue Tuesday night and Wednesday.

* Impacts…Difficult driving conditions with reduced
visibility and snow covered roads.

* Winds…Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph Monday night becoming north
15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph on Tuesday.

* Temperatures…In the 20s.

The funeral will be at 2pm, graveside at Mt. Olive cemetery, in the Taylor Road Synagogue section.

We regret to inform the you of the passing of Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Nadoff, A”H, father of Kollel member Rabbi Mordechai Nadoff.

R’ Nadoff will return to Cleveland to sit Shiva on Thursday afternoon. Mincha will be at 6:00 p.m. (2518 Claver Road).

Eligibility

  • Income Limit is 200% of The FPIG (see chart below).
  • No shared or commercial meters.
  • Bill must be past due (past the due date).
  • Bill needs to be in a household member’s name.
  • You must have made a payment within 90 days of application and provide proof of payment.
  • You must have paid the remainder of the balance (e.g. if your bill is $400 and you are applying for a $300 credit, you must pay the $100 first) .

Documents & Information Needed

  • 90 days of income (paystubs, etc.)
  • Current gas and electric bill
  • Social security numbers for all household members
  • Social Security card for applicant (adult who comes for appointment) and for the household member whose name the bill is in.
  • Proof of citizenship for all household members (Birth certificates, passports or social security cards).
  • Photo ID for applicant.
  • Proof of payment made to the electric company within 90 days.
