Bikur Cholim of Cleveland’s Children’s Health and Safety Fair June 25 at Green Road Synagogue in Beachwood will feature hands-on exhibits and seminars for families and children. This will be the third Children’s Health and Safety Fair organized by Dr. Giela Gellis, who said each of the previous ones were attended by more than 1,000 people.

Ohio Tax Free Weekend, August 4 Through August 6

Mark your calendars for Ohio Tax free weekend in August. http://www.tax.ohio.gov/sales_and_use/salestaxholiday.aspx

Starts Friday, August 4, 2017 at 12:00 a.m. and ends on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 11:59 p.m.

During the holiday, the following items are exempt from sales and use tax:

  • Clothing priced at $75 per item or less;
  • School supplies priced at $20 per item or less; and
  • School instructional material priced at $20 per item or less.

  • School and athletic uniforms are included
  • Costumes (but not the masks if sold separably) are included (think Purim!)
  • Diapers are included!!!
  • The exemption applies to items selling for $75 or less. If an item of clothing sells for more than $75, tax is due on the entire selling price.
  • Reference books, reference maps and globes, textbooks, and workbooks are included
  • Qualified items sold to consumers by mail, telephone, e-mail, or Internet shall qualify for the sales tax (read the FAQ regarding additional details)
  • The sales tax holiday is set by law and all vendors must comply.

Psychology Teacher

Yavne High School is looking for a teacher for our 12th grade psychology class for the coming school year. The class will meet from 3:00-3:50 Monday-Thursday, or from 3:00-5:00 two afternoons/week. Candidates should meet the following requirements:

  1. Either a psychology teacher licensed by the Ohio Department of Education OR a person with at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology who is eligible for an Ohio Department of Education nontax certificate.
  2. Previous experience teaching is preferred.
  3. A love for teaching and working with adolescents
  4. A passion for the subject matter.

Art Teacher

Yavne High School is looking for a teacher for our art classes for the coming school year. The classes will meet from 3:00-5:00 Monday-Thursday.

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

  1. Either an art teacher licensed by the Ohio Department of Education OR a person with a Bachelor’s Degree in art who is eligible for an Ohio Department of Education nontax certificate.
  2. Previous experience teaching is preferred.
  3. A love for teaching and working with adlolescents
  4. A passion for the subject matter.

English Teacher

Yavne High School is looking for a teacher for 2 English classes. The classes will meet from 12:40–2:05 Monday-Friday.

  1. Either an English teacher licensed by the Ohio Department of Education OR a person with a Bachelor’s Degree in English who is eligible for an Ohio Department of Education nontax certificate.
  2. Previous experience teaching is preferred.
  3. A love for teaching and working with adlolescents
  4. A passion for the subject matter.
