AMIT Children Annual Campaign Huge Success!

February 2, 2021 Leave a Comment

AMIT Children concluded the calendar year in record fashion – raising almost thirteen million dollars to help educate AMIT’s 41,000 children in 104 schools across Israel.

“This year presented unique challenges on every level and I am so very proud of what
AMIT collectively was able to accomplish,’ said Audrey Axelrod Trachtman, AMIT’s president, “We exceeded our pre-COVID annual campaign goal because our partners around the world are so committed to our students who they view as their own children.”

When COVID hit Israel’s schools last March AMIT staff nimbly shifted to remote learning while ensuring that every child had what they needed to continue their education as
effectively as possible. In many cases, that meant providing a computer, internet access and, for the most at-risk, a range of vital support services including counseling. “COVID presented many challenges to our students but we found that our principals, teachers and students worked together as a team to meet obstacles head on and found creative ways to overcome them,” said Joyce Straus, AMIT’s Board of Directors co-chair, “In some cases it even meant providing nutritional support to those feeling the impact of the COVID induced economic crisis.”

AMIT charted out a plan for every student in the network individualized to meet their
needs. “1:1 attention is one of the great strengths of our network,” said Sharon Merkin board co-Chair. “Every child has an individualized plan to help see them through this crisis. That culture, along with AMIT’s revolutionary Gogya teaching methodology, enabled us to hold our students close virtually throughout the pandemic.”

Broad donor support helped AMIT to send an extra million dollars to help cover COVID
induced expenses. “When the crisis hit, we knew we needed to respond immediately. I’m thrilled that our supporters on every level were so responsive even when facing challenges here,” said vice-president Shari Safra, “They gave our staff in Israel the ability to respond immediately and put our students’ needs first.”

Helping meet a national challenge is nothing new to AMIT – in its 96-year history AMIT
has evolved to become an integral part of the fabric of Israeli society with over 320,000 alumni across the Jewish state. AMIT enables Israel’s youth to realize their potential and strengthens Israeli society by educating and nurturing children from diverse backgrounds within a framework of academic excellence, Jewish values and Zionist ideals.

Special Hand-Made Shemurah (Chaburah) Matzah Baked By HaRav Blum Shlita Of Cleveland Heights

February 1, 2021 Leave a Comment

Order hand-made Shemurah (Chaburah) Matzah baked primarily in the Pupa/Tzailem Matzah bakery in New York.

These thin and delicious Matzos are baked fresh shortly before Pesach for the Cleveland community by HaRav Yehudah Blum Shlita of Khal Yereim in Cleveland Hts, and his Chashuvah Bnei Torah Chaburah. They are available to us at a greatly discounted price.

These Matzos are baked with additional Hashgachah v’Hidurim. Chashuvah Rabbanim and Talmidei Chachamim Shlita both in Cleveland & other cities have been using the Rav’s exceptional Matzos for many years.

ORDER NOW from Shloimy Modes
Email: Matza613@gmail.com
Call/text 24 hrs 216.401.7507
or call 216.397.9495

Orders are confirmed within 48 hrs. Please try again if you do not receive a confirmation.

Orders are filled while supplies last. While it is recommended that orders be placed before February 26th-Purim, feel free to try ordering as late as Chol HaMoeid, as occasionally extra Matzah is in stock.

The following is a list of the varieties available to order:
(Most varieties are sold by the lb and are very thin with 8-9 Matzos per lb.)

  • Regular
  • Semi Whole Wheat
  • 100% Whole Wheat
  • Spelt (a box of 6 Matzos. Less than a lb. Some years not baked under the Rav’s Hashgachah – ask for details.)
  • Oat (A box of 3 Matzos. Less than a lb. Some years not baked under the Rav’s Hashgachah – ask for details.)
  • Shemurah Matzah Meal
  • Special Chaburah (Shitas HaRosh) – premium pricing applies to this item. Order by February 12th-Rosh Chodesh Adar to ensure availability of this item.
  • Satmar Special Chaburah (Shitas HaRosh) – premium pricing applies to this item. About 6-7 Matzos per lb. Order by February 12th-Rosh Chodesh Adar to ensure availability of this item.

Due to the Rav’s ongoing efforts to keep the prices as low as possible, prices are not set until after the entire process of baking & shipping have been determined.

Your Matzah order will iy”H be available for pickup & payment at Khal Yereim – 1771 S. Taylor Rd. In Cleveland Heights on the evenings of March 17th & 18th.

The prices will be posted at Khal Yereim on the days of pickup. Cash or checks are accepted (no credit cards).

Exact times of pickup will be posted on this website closer to the pickup dates.

Much effort is extended to prevent breakage, however, thinner Matzos can break easier. Most years most pounds that are sold are mostly Halachicaly Shleimim. We cannot however be responsible for breakage under any circumstances. All sales are final.

No one, not even those involved with the selling of the Matzos, including Rav Blum himself, picks & chooses through their Matzos.

We are a not for profit community service which Rav Blum’s father zt”l started over half a century ago for his Kehillah & the community at large. HaRav Blum Shlita has carried on this sacred tradition.
