University Heights police seek help identifying men who tried to set fire at apartment (2200 Kerwin Road)

Police are looking for two men who tried to set fire to a University Heights apartment building.

The men spilled oil on the sidewalk and an outside wall of the building on the 2200 block of Kerwin Road. They also discharged a fire extinguisher and damaged a surveillance camera in the indoor parking garage.

University Square shopping center, long troubled, faces foreclosure and receivership

An out-of-state buyer who paid virtually nothing for the University Square shopping center in 2013 is more than $12 million behind on property taxes and debt payments – putting the long-ailing East Side property on the path to foreclosure.

A lender’s lawsuit filed in early February caps a prolonged slide for University Square, which has struggled with mounting vacancy and a heavy debt load since its completion in 2003.

Man wanted for attack, shoplifting at University Heights Macy’s

Police have identified a suspect after a security guard was attacked at the Macy’s store in University Heights.

The robbery happened on Dec. 28 at about 4 p.m. at the department store on Warrensville Center Road …

Stevens fled in a Chevrolet Impala, which was found abandoned in the parking lot of Tibor’s Kosher Meat Market.
