Empire Issues Recall of Certain Chicken Breasts

Empire Kosher® is committed to producing the highest quality products and our top priority is the safety of our consumers. Unfortunately, due to an equipment malfunction certain of our boneless chicken breast products have the potential to contain a piece of extraneous material contamination. Out of an abundance of caution we are issuing a voluntary recall for five products with identified sell by dates manufactured in one of our facilities (USDA-FSIS Establishment P-1015). There have been no reports of illness or injury associated with this issue.

The affected lots of Empire Kosher® Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast were distributed to select Costco, select Trader Joe’s, and select Wegmans stores only.  No other retailers received these products.

The affected products and ‘Sell By Dates’ dates that are being recalled are:

Cuisinart Issues Recall on Food Processor Blades

Bottom line: If the blade has rivets, it’s probably included in the recall. Unfortunately, their website wasn’t loading well at the time I wrote this. Please check www.cuisinart.com/recall for more complete information and pictures.

    1. Check the blade to see if there are rivets…
    2. If your blade has rivets, check the Model or Series number of your Food Processor, as shown on the bottom of the Food Processor (see below). If the number starts with any of the above (which may be followed by a suffix), STOP using the riveted blade immediately. Call the Customer Service number or register Online to receive a replacement blade (see below).

Not recalled:

If the Model number ends in a Y as shown on the front panel of the box …

OR

There are NO RIVETS on the blade …

Your Food Processor is NOT involved in this recall. You may continue to use your Food Processor.

Kirkland freeze dried fruit and Dole bagged salad recalled due to contamination risk: Food and Drug recalls

kirklandslicedfruitjpg-c6466b25721954ae(Plain Dealer)  Kirkland brand freeze-dried fruit sold in Costco stores and Dole bagged salads are being recalled in several states due to a risk of contamination with potentially deadly bacteria.

Oregon Freeze Dry, Inc. of Albany, OR is recalling almost 60,000 cases of the Kirkland  Signature Real Sliced Fruit, sold only in Costco stores, according to a news release. The freeze-dried fruit, sold in a red and white case containing 20 pouches, may be contaminated with salmonella.

Recall: Nearly 900,000 Honda Odyssey Minivans 05-10

Honda will voluntarily recall 886,815 Odyssey minivans from the 2005-2010 model-years in the United States to replace the fuel strainer, free of charge.
Prolonged exposure to acidic chemicals, which are present in some car wash formulas and the general environment, along with high ambient temperatures, may cause the cover of the fuel strainer to deteriorate prematurely, resulting in cracks in the material.

Graco recalling nearly 3.8M child car seats

Graco is recalling nearly 3.8 million car safety seats because children can get trapped by buckles that may not unlatch. But the company has drawn the ire of federal safety regulators who say the recall should include another 1.8 million rear-facing car seats designed for infants. The recall covers 11 models sold from 2009 through 2013 by Graco Children’s Products Inc. of Atlanta.
