Menorah Park Center for Senior Living is one of the largest nursing home, rehabilitation center, and senior living communities in the State of Ohio. Based in an upscale suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, our not-for-profit Jewish sponsored organization consists of three state of the art apartment residences; four home health branches; adult day care; outpatient therapy practices; with the largest aspect of our services being our nursing home and rehabilitation center.

The Chaplaincy and Religious Services Director is an Orthodox Jewish Rabbi who directs and coordinates chaplaincy, spiritual living and religious activities for the diverse senior living population of the Menorah Park campus.

Shaimos services March 21-31 at Mount Olive

(Please remember to make a kiddush Hashem and appreciate the fact that the cemetery is truly devoting a lot of their time and resources to help us with this mitzvah. So whatever you bring make sure that it is well wrapped and easy for them to place in the ground.)

Mount Olive Cemetery in Solon will offer Shaimos services for the burial of religious books and papers from the community for burial before Passover, from March 22-31.

Drop off boxes at the cemetery office at 27855 Aurora Road in Solon from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For larger drop-offs that may require help and storage, call 440-248-5100.

Rare 1923 film footage reveals ‘my great-grandfather’

A few seconds into a recently discovered, rare film clip of the first Knessiah Gedolah in 1923 in Vienna, a rabbi with a long, white beard appears.

“That’s my great-grandfather, with the beard,” exclaims an excited Eva Schwartz, a 97-year-old resident of Wiggins Place, as she watches a video of the four minute, 51-second film on a large screen in a multipurpose room of the assisted living community on the campus of Menorah Park Center for Senior Living in Beachwood.

I’ve been hearing a lot of busy, stressed-out mothers say how overwhelmed they feel with Pesach preparation, and I wanted to offer a few tips to make things easier:

We regret to inform you of the passing of Emma Farkas, sister to Mrs. Erna Laufer and aunt to Edith Shachter and Rita Schonfeld.   Mrs. Laufer will be sitting shiva through Monday morning.  Shiva hours are 2:30-4:30 and 6:30-8:00  (no visitors on Shabbos) at 4451 University Pkwy.

May the family be comforted among the mourners of Tzion and Yerushalayim.

Something To Add To Your Shopping List

As I was driving down green road tonight in the total darkness I noticed a man from the community walking on the sidewalk, but I only noticed him due to his reflective belt. I, as well as any other driver, may not have seen him without it if he had been trying to cross the street. Please, in all of the preparations for yom tov, add to your lists a stop at the book stores for reflective belts. Especially on these late nights they can save lives!
