Many of Cleveland’s older Jewish cemeteries are located in areas where the Jewish community no longer lives and synagogues no longer exist. Without an organized effort, thesecemeteries have fallen into disrepair and the Jewish Federation of Cleveland has stepped in to help. With unanimous Board approval, the 112 year old non-profit organization has launched a Cemetery Preservation Campaign with the goal of raising $3.5 million to honor the deceased.

(Kof-K, Rabbi Naftoli Burnstein)

This coming week, our local B.J’s (in Warrensville Heights) will have their bakery kashered, and will be going under the supervision of the Kof-K(or Chof-K).  All of the baked products will be considered dairy.  If you are in the area on Wendesday June 24^th, in the morning, you can stop by and see them kashering the bakery.  The Kof-k recommends waiting to purchase the baked goods from the bakery until after the official sign goes up(which might take a few days).  This will allow for the products made before the kashering, to have been sold, and no longer on the shelves for purchase.

We will also bring the Sefer Torah to University Heights to the home of Andy and Isa lefkowitz on Thursday June 25th from 730 till 900 for anyone who would like to participate in writing a letter in the Sefer Torah (in memory of Rabbi Brog’s father). We ask a minimum of 18 dollars per letter for the yeshiva.
