A Letter Sent to the Jewish Community from Someone Who Just Happened to Be Driving Through
A little after 7:00 tonight I was driving home from the Cleveland Jewish Film Festival. While I was on Washington Blvd. a block or two from Green Road, a young woman dressed almost entirely in black jogged across the street. Then a young man in a black suit and black hat skateboarded down the street and crossed between cars to the other side of the street. It was twilight and very difficult to see these people; in fact, the young man riding on the street (not the sidewalk) almost startled me by suddenly “appearing.”
I know about modest dress for the Orthodox, but Judaism stresses health, safety, and life. Perhaps a fluorescent belt, vest, or chest strap would not violate any dress codes and would help drivers see these people. Winter and longer nights are coming. As they say: “The life you save may be your own.”

New Bowling Location in Cleveland – Family Friendly or Not?
A new bowling alley opened up next door to University Hospital on Euclid Ave in the much renovated stretch of road next to the Case campus. It is called The Corner Alley. It looks real nice from the outside and could well be frum family friendly and is certainly close to the community and in a safe area. It does have a restaurant and bar but that seems to be a separate experience – not sure. Can anyone comment on this place as a good place to go with kids? Beachwood – University Heights Community Kollel Has Entered the First Stage of Its Building Process
With gratitude to Hashem for His Help thus far, and tefillos to Him for continued Guidance, the Beachwood – University Heights Community Kollel (Kollel Yad Chaim Mordechai) rejoices, as its future home has entered the first stage of its building process. Hundreds of families, numbering thousands of men, women and children have considered the Kollel their Torah home for over eighteen years.
Your recitation of Tehilim Perek 127 is most appreciated, as it will catalyze the completion of a beautiful new Torah edifice – to create more K’vod Shomayim in this community.
