Jewish population study grabs the spotlight April 9
(Cleveland Jewish News)
The Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s 2011 population study showed a strong, stable, highly engaged Jewish community in Northeast Ohio. A total of 80,800 Jewish people reside in Greater Cleveland, about the same as the number reported in the Federation’s study of 1996.
The latest study also pinpointed areas of community need. It revealed a significant percentage of Jewish people who are economically vulnerable, a large “baby boomer” generation that will ultimately need aging services and a growing number of interfaith families.

A Happy Pesach Message from our Local Jewish News advice columnist, Mrs. Sara Brejt

With Pesach preparations in full swing, I’d like to share one of my favorite vorts about Pesach – from the late Bostoner Rebbetzin, a”h.
She was fond of reversing the usual seasonal salutations and would wish people “A Kosher Purim” and “A Freilichen (Happy) Pesach” – because our Purim activities and food/drink choices should always be kosher and our Pesach preparations should always be happy!
So, a Freilichen Pesach to one and all!

Needed: Used Books for the Heights Jewish Center 5th Annual Book Sale
As you clean for Pesach and find books that are no longer needed (Jewish and appropriate secular books), please consider donating them to Heights Jewish Center’s Fifth Annual Used Book Fair this spring. Please drop them off to the Synagogue at 14270 Cedar Road, at the corner of Cedar and Wrenford. If the office is closed, please leave them outside of the doors, off the parking lot, under the overhang. Specially scheduled pickups can be arranged. Thank you for helping our fundraiser and remember that 100% of the proceeds goes right back into helping the shul! Please direct questions to booksale@hjcs.org or call the office at 216-382-1958 (No shaimos please).
