Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s 69th Independence Day

Celebrate Israel’s Independence Day with Israeli superstar Idan Raichel in concert! Join us for a fun-filled evening at our largest annual community event featuring family fun for all ages, shopping in the Israeli marketplace (shuk), noshing on delicious kosher foods for sale, and more.

Dole Iceberg Lettuce Kashrus Alert

April 27, 2017 – from the Star-K:

Due to heightened infestation issues, the availability of STAR-K certified iceberg from Dole is going to decrease for at least the next few weeks. Many bags will not bear the STAR-K symbol and they are NOT certified. Please advise your Kehillos and constituents to please check each and every bag for the STAR-K symbol.
Cabbage/cole slaw mixes seem to be fine, at least for the time being, but we are monitoring them closely as well and the status may also be subject to sudden change.

There will be Tehillim tonight, Thursday, at 7:30 p.m. for our Rav RAPHAEL BEN TOIBA LEAH at Heights Jewish Center, followed by Mincha at 8:05 PM.

Men and women are encouraged to attend.

We regret to inform you of the passing of Dr. Bela Glaser, former medical director of Montefiore (through late 80s). The levaya will take place at Berkowitz-Kumin Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 2pm. Burial to follow at Zion Memorial Cemetery. “Shiva (no nichum aveilim)” will be held at Heights Jewish Center following burial through Mincha/ Maariv.

We regret to inform you of the passing of Jeremy Zuchowski, Dovid ben Chaim, son of Charles and Debbie Zuchowski and brother of Jason, Aaron and Mia Zuchowski.

The funeral will be graveside Friday, April 7 at 1:30 PM at Zion Memorial Park.

Shiva will be observed at 2510 Blossom Lane. Motzei Shabbos until 11:00 PM and all day Sunday.
