Construction starts on Fenwick Road park in University Heights
(Cleveland.com)(Update: On July 24th a grand opening celebration was held to debut the new park.)
Construction has started on a 6.5-acre park off Fenwick Road, the city’s first significant recreational project in 20 years.
“It’s going to introduce an asset to the city that we don’t currently have,” Mayor Susan Infeld said. “It’s the type of amenity most people would expect to find in a community of homes, such as ours.”
In August, City Council hired Cavanaugh Building Corp. of Copley Township to build the park. To pay for it, voters approved a $1.8 million bond issue in November 2014. Property owners will repay the debt over 15 years, at a cost of about $25 a year on each $100,000 of home value.

New look at University Heights’ Cedar Center South to be unveiled in mid-November

Work on the new Cedar Center South facade is expected to be completed in time for a mid-November ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The face lift on the 1950s-era shopping strip got under way July 20 and includes a new storefront for each of the businesses at Cedar Center, owned for the past two years by Inland Real Estate Corp., of Oak Brook, Ill.

Students of the incredible One-Year Program actually study and complete the entire Kitzur Shulchan Aruch in by studying only several paragraphs a day. As we have noted in the past, the Chofetz Chaim writes that one can fulfill the words “Vehagisa Bo Yomam VaLayla” by learning Halacha in the morning and Halachos in the evening. With so many wonderful English translations of the Kitzur, it is truly a great and relatively easy opportunity to review a vast amount of Halachos over the coming year, with an investment of only several minutes per day.
