Electrical Safety Prevents Fires – Dave’s Electric TONIGHT

In light of the recent tragedy in New York, Dave and Sam Neuman of Dave’s Electric will be at the Shopping Boutique TONIGHT, Tuesday, March 24, 2015, 6:00pm – 10:30pm Green Road Synagogue, 2347 South Green Road in Beachwood as a community service to discuss with the community electrical safety in the home.

We are coming up on a long Yom Tov, when many people need to keep gas or electric appliances running to keep the food warm. Please attend so you can ask any questions about home electrical safety you may have.

In addition, staff from Cleveland Jewish News (including possibly the editor) may also be in attendance, for further information on a feature story in an upcoming issue.

Dirshu Daily Halacha Program Just Started

The Dirshu Mishna Berurah Amud Yomi just restarted their cycle on Sunday, 2 Nissan. Take a look out at their multi-page information booklet which offers much important information, including phone Shiurim, contact information and a calendar to join in the study of Halacha and Mussar by thousands upon thousands. This is truly an exciting beginning–and joining together with the multitudes to learn Halacha and Mussar together will certainly serve as both a practical and outstanding act on your part! Fresh Express Lettuce Bags – No Hechsher

It has been brought to our attention that some of the Fresh Express lettuce bags sold at Heinen’s (and elsewhere perhaps) do not bear their usual hechsher. In particular bagged lettuce dated 3/29.

 

 

Legacy Village lands L.L. Bean

Outdoor retailer L.L. Bean will expand its retail operation with the opening of its first Ohio store in Legacy Village.

The store is scheduled to open in November in Lyndhurst. The 16,000-square-foot store will employ approximately 100 people and feature an assortment of active and casual apparel and footwear as well as outdoor lifestyle gear.

Kosher Food Bank Updates

There will be a pre- Pesach food distribution at the Kosher Food Bank on Green Road on Monday, March 30th from 2-4pm. They hope to have a lot of potatoes and onions and more for all your Pesach needs!! There is parking at the Torah Nursery.  Please remember to bring bags! There will also be a mobile food bank distribution on Wed, April 1st  at Green Road Synagogue from 4-6pm. There will be no food distribution in Cleveland Heights next week or the week of Chol HaMoed.

Rabbi Naphtali Burnstein’s Mishna Brura Class

Rabbi Naphtali Burnstein’s Mishna Brura class will begin the first volume of Mishna Brura on Thursday, March 26. The class meets at the following times:

  •   Monday.-Friday 7:25 am at the Young Israel of Greater Cleveland, 2463 S. Green Rd.
  •    Sunday –Thursday 10 pm at the JLC.

As before, observant families should continue to visit on this Chol HaMoed day, and this other date is only being offered due to a request from the non-Orthodox community who are not aware of the sanctity of Yom Tov.)
