Mazel Tov – Appelbaum Setnik Vort

With gratitude to Hashem Yisborach, we are pleased to announce a vort in honor of the engagement of Nechama Bayla Appelbaum, daughter of Boruch and Susan Appelbaum, to Getzel Nosson Setnik, son of Philip and Kimberly Setnik.  The vort will take place IY”H on Sunday evening, November 9, from 8 pm to 10 pm at the Setnik home, 2329 Lyndway Rd., Beachwood, Ohio  44122.  May we always share simchas!

BURZINSKI NATHAN BURZINSKI, age 86, died November 7, 2014. HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR. Korean War Army veteran. Beloved husband of Jean Burzinski (nee Lansky, deceased); devoted father of Amy (Jordan) Gorfinkel and Debra (David) Well of IL; loving grandfather of Ashira, Eliana, Noam, Ori, Eli, Daniella, Kayla and Judah. Services will be held at BERKOWITZ-KUMIN-BOOKATZ MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1985 S. TAYLOR RD., CLEVELAND HTS. on Sunday, November 9 at 2 PM. Interment Zion Memorial Park (Cedar Sinai Synagogue section). The family will observe shivah at the residence of Jordan and Amy Gorfinkel, 2427 White Rd., University Hts, SUNDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY. The balance of shivah will be observed at the residence of David and Debra Well, 8940 Samoset Tr., in Skokie, IL THURSDAY FROM 6 to 10 PM and FRIDAY UNTIL 1 PM. Volunteers Needed for Kosher Food Bank

The Kosher Food Bank is looking for 2 volunteers every Sunday  from 12 to 1:30 pm. Persons can volunteer once a month, more often or less often. Persons should have a car or Mini Van and be able to drive, & lift 15 lb bags.  Persons will help to deliver 40 food bags to a Cleve.Hts Senior Housing project. New JLC Class for Women In Memory of Basya Rivka, a”h

The Jewish Learning Connection will be hosting a class for women on the modern classic ‘Garden of Emunah,’ with Mrs. Elena Berkovich. Mrs. Berkovich is giving the class in memory of her daughter Basya Rivka, a”h, who passed away earlier this year after a brief illness. The class will be  held Sunday mornings at 10:30 at JLC’s Waxman Torah Center 2195 South Green Road.

Gavin Michael George – Child Piano Prodigy Free Concert

gavinGavin Michael George is an eleven year-old student of Antonio Pompa-Baldi who began playing piano at the age of 3 ½.  By age eleven, he has had seven professional concerti and many solo performances, both nationally and internationally.   Performances locations include Carnegie Hall, Severance Hall, Washington D.C.’s Constitution Hall, Minneapolis’s Orchestra Hall, Boston, Florida, Italy and Luxembourg.  Gavin performed on the Emmy-award winning show From the Top, The CBS Early Show, and The Queen Latifah Show and is featured in a documentary by Radical Media of NYC on their Youtube THNKR series titled PRODIGIES.  Gavin has won three international solo and concerto competitions.
