foxparkinsonsAshkenazi Jews carry a gene mutation for Parkinson’s at a much higher rate than the general population.

The Michael J. Fox Foundation is looking for Ashkenazi Jews who either have Parkinson’s, or are 50 and older with a first degree relative who has Parkinson’s. If you meet either of these criteria, and would like to have free genetic testing, please visit www.michaeljfox.org/ppmigenetics or call 888-830-6299.

If you are found to be positive for the gene, you will receive free genetic counseling and have the option of participating in further study.

We’re the ones who get it, we’re the ones who can find a cure.  For more information visit the website, call the information line, or check out a 2 page informational booklet.

Rabbi Cahan Shabbos Shuva Drasha

elliesfamlyWe are excited about our new place and filling the void for a quality kosher candy/ice cream/ sweet shop in Cleveland. We appreciate all the feedback we have recieved, both compliments and suggestions, and have already started to act on them.
The ‘soft serve'( the #1 request) should be available by next week. We are looking into soups and salads (the #2 request) after the holidays. Speaking of the holidays, you can get your gourmet holiday trays from us, we have new chocolate and caramel corn recipes that are mouthwatering.
 We started booking parties, so if you need a place to host a birthday/anniversary/sheva bracha/upshearen, etc, we are THE place.

We are excited to announce the schedule for the High Holidays. Please note that we have a limited supply of machzorim so please plan to bring yours if you have one. We are using “Machzor Yechavah Da’at” but any Sephardi machzor should work just fine.
