Are you tired of schlepping to Akron/Canton airport only to see your neighbor waiting there for the same flight? After many requests, a community member is trying to organize a free service to connect people traveling to and from Akron Canton airport.
If you want a ride or are willing to give a ride or share a cab we want to know about it! Let’s help each other while helping ourselves too.
Our vision is that a central person would receive requests and offers for rides via email and then help to make a match. This would not be on the LocalJewishNews.com web site, but rather interested parties would email a specific email address: ACairport@LocalJewishNews.com and do all the communicating via email.
So we are looking for a volunteer coordinator to receive and send emails to connect travelers. To apply for this volunteer position please email Info@localjewishnews.com. Qualifications are email access, ability to check regularly, and patience. Ideally we would also be able to recruit a backup coordinator too.

The same can be done for Hopkins

Since the hub closed, Hopkins flights are too expensive going to NY so most people are now flying out of Akron esp the early morning flights

Great idea, but email communication isn’t the right implementation.
Make a public Google Doc or Calendar where people can put in their flight info for ridesharing.
