A brief overview of some of our programs:
-3 Guest Homes to house patients and their families from out-of-town
-4 Kosher Hospitality Rooms with Pantries at area hospitals
-Fresh, hot kosher meals delivered to patients and care givers
-Interpretation services for non-English-speaking foreign patients
-Transportation to and from the hospital and doctor visits
-Programs for children with special needs, community health education etc.
-Financial assistance for medical-incurred expenses
Cleveland, Ohio is home to major, world renowned medical centers. Our Biker Cholim is the only Jewish organization in the city that provided all Jewish patients from wherever they originate – Cleveland, New York, Jerusalem or Sao Paulo – with around-the-clock high level caring and support from the moment they arrive until the time they leave.
Over the last several years Bikur Cholim of Cleveland has grown in size exponentially in terms of the number of patients it serves and, accordingly, in expenditures incurred in order to do so. It now faces a financial crisis of its own, with a shortfall of $100,000.
We desperately need your help so that we can continue to maintain the totality of our programs.
