We would like to acquaint you with the Kosher Food Bank, a humanitarian program in our community that has distributed 12,000 food packages over the last year, in the greater Cleveland area.
Every week, without fail, the volunteers for the Kosher Food Bank are there, with dedication, commitment and a warm heart! We could not have accomplished this without them.
On Sunday July 21st, 7:00 pm we will be hosting our Kosher Food Bank Recognition Celebration, and you are invited to help honor the 50 volunteers, who have been an inspiration. They will be presented with the Rebbetzin Kazen Volunteer Award. The program will take place at the Waxman Chabad Center 2479 South Green Road, Beachwood Ohio.
This event commemorates the second yahrtzeit of Rabbi Zalman Kazen of blessed memory and will celebrate the 91st Birthday of Rebbetzin Kazen. Together they pioneered the SSRIAS Kosher Food Bank over 35 years ago, providing food, clothes, jobs, and Jewish holiday needs to thousands! Our goal is to continue their legacy.
In addition, we now have an amazing opportunity for the Kosher Food Bank to meet its heavy financial burdens.A supporting foundation of the Federation has offered us a challenge grant of $25,000 if we can match that amount by the end of July.
We hope you will respond generously and encourage others to STOP HUNGER in our community. All donations given now, will be DOUBLED helping us to expand this vital humanitarian program. The need is ever pressing, and we will not turn anyone away!
We have managed to keep our cost low, thanks to all the volunteers, food vendors and membership at the Cleveland Food Bank, therefore a gift of $500 will feed 5 families for ONE FULL YEAR!
