Meshulach/ Collector Alert

There is a woman by the name of Denise (or Devorah) Stein in town stating that she is collecting funds for herself due to a divorce. She appears to be in her fifties. She is also looking for a place to stay (The Hochnosis Orchim of Cleveland is only available to men). She is carrying a certificate from the Vaad Hatzedakos Agudas Yisroel of Illinois (Chicago) from about a year ago and another from the Vaad Hatzedakos (Vaad Harabonim) of Queens.

The Chicago Vaad denies any record of her. The Queens Vaad reports that the certificate she displays from there dated 2/9/2012 is an absolute forgery. This information has been received directly from the rabbi from Queens that issues all of their certificates. She is being driven by a male in a black Lincoln Towncar. Based these and other concerns, we strongly discourage people from assisting her either financially or by providing her with a place to stay. There are no reports of her being of any potential harm, but suggest that if she approaches you, politely but sternly let her know you are unable to be of assistance to her. She is prone to getting quite emotional.  It is unfortunate to see anyone become this desperate. She has been told it is probably in everyone’s best interest if she leaves the city. Let’s pray she receives Rachomei Shomayim.
