INJURY ACCIDENT, I-271: A baby was saved by proper use of a car seat, but was among three taken to the hospital following an accident Oct. 7. The driver was northbound and her car drifted into the left lane where it struck a truck and then bounced back across the right lane. The car flipped over the guard rail and went down the embankment ending up next to Brainard Road. The driver had on a seat belt and the one-year-old was secure, but the front-seat passenger, who did not have a seat belt on, went through the windshield. The driver was cited for failure to control her vehicle.
THEFT, SHAKER BOULEVARD: Someone stole a campaign sign that proclaimed support for President Obama. The culprit also left a note in the resident’s mail box listing reasons votes should not be cast for the president.
