‘Tonight’s School Board meeting changed to 5:30pm. CH City Council still 7:30pm.

We urge you to attend the Cleveland Heights City Council meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, February 21st at 7:30pm at City Hall.  Support the community-wide effort to prevent the Millikin property from being rezoned from residential to commercial use;  and urge the Council to support Mosdos Ohr HaTorah’s fair purchase offer for the property.  Parents, community members and children are all urged to attend.  Let’s show the council that our community cares about the Millikin site and our neighborhood.   The issue is urgent and the Jewish community of Cleveland Heights needs your help.  Look forward to seeing you there!

Recent press coverage of this issue:

Residents urge Cleveland Heights-University Heights school board to sell former Millikin School property to Orthodox Jewish day school (Sun Press, Feb 17) (excellent comments!)

Councilman: Mosdosright option (Cleveland Jewish News, Feb 16)

Cleveland Hts Patch reports that the meeting has been changed to 5:30 – a really bad time for most people – makes one wonder – why 5:30?
Beyond that- suggestion – the school board can fill 2 sites – Millikan and the old Tops/Finast location at University Square – put the call center at University Square where this is this huge – unflappable gap- with plenty of parking – no zoning issues – and plenty of surrounding businesses which would benefit from the added presence of the employees of the call center. Target, Famous Footwear – Whole Foods, McDonalds etc – and put Mosdos in the Millikan site.

Now that Joann is leaving University Square to Golden Gate, there is plenty of room in both their store as well as the adjacent one which was never filled.

Shimeon – Exelent suggestion. Just keep in mind University Square is a privately owned building and the call center would be subject to their leasing terms.

there was plenty of space in University Square already. There is more fraud in Cleveland real estate than in Afghan elections.
