What is all the “buzz” about life coaching?

A life coach supports you as you reach goals and overcome challenges.  Similarly to the way a sports coach works with an athlete to help him achieve his potential, a life coach works together with her client to move her forward and accomplish her goals, solve a problem, break a habit, or initiate change.

For example, trying to shed that excess weight for years? Stuck in a relationship that doesn’t feel quite right?  Not getting along with your mother-in-law, sister-in-law, husband (or just fill in the blank…) Looking for a career change?  Empty nesting?  A life coach will help you figure out what is right for YOU!

While other people in your life, even your closest friends and most intimate partners, are cognizant of your flaws and at times unwittingly even judge you according to them, a life coach listens as you express your thoughts and feelings WITHOUT judging you!  A life coach sees the potential you harbor within yourself.  She listens from a place of support and empathy, entirely clear of her own agenda.  With the insight she gains from listening to you like this, she gently guides you toward taking the first steps of your journey toward growth, change and fulfillment.   She does this not by offering unsolicited advice or dictating proper courses of action. She does this not by telling, but by asking.    She uses her skills to help you think on your own, so that the answers resonate within you and your lifestyle.

A life coach helps you to become the person you want to be, the person you are capable of becoming.  She helps you unearth your inner potential and make it a reality.

Coaching has no connection to therapy.  It is for a person who would like to make a change in her life, and would benefit from a helping hand in so doing.

Coaching can be done in person or over the phone.
